Hello! Welcome to my blog Coffee and Yarn, all about knitting with the occasional reference to coffee, wine, sewing and our allotment!
I first started knitting after I joined the craft club at my workplace in London. It wasn’t just the promise of wine that lured me in, or the chance to meet new people, I found the prospect of learning how to create items from yarn really alluring.
We began by knitting a square each for a charity blanket, which then led to my next project, knitting my first scarf for a favourite small person, which turned into knitting Christmas decorations for a charity fair at work, then a stuffed monkey for my nephew and after that it was sort of out of control!
One of the things that I’m most proud of is a vintage lace blanket I knitted for my friend’s baby. It was a real project of love, as I’d never knitted lace before and it took me eight attempts to get it right! I persevered though and I think the end result is really beautiful!
I’m so glad that I took that initial step and tried something new, as now I’m a complete addict and knitting has become a substantial part of my life!
I hope you enjoy reading my blog. If you want to get in touch for any reason at all, please fill out the form below, I’d love to hear from you!
All the best
