Hello 2017

Hello! Happy New year!

I am writing this on the last day of January, so pretty much the last day it is acceptable to wish someone ‘Happy New Year’!

2016 for me, has been a very eventful year, thankfully in a good way! We moved back to Derbyshire from London, I started a new job, J started a three day commute to London and we began the process of adjusting to our new, lovely life away from the capital!

And if that wasn’t enough, at the end of the year we started looking for a house to buy, and HURRAH we’ve bought one! We moved in last Thursday and I am already completely in love! I can’t wait to decorate and make it our own, and also get involved with the garden, which is full of fruit trees.

The only down side to all of these amazing things, is that I haven’t been as proactive at blogging as I would like. Even the knitting has slowed down a little bit, so I’m hoping to rectify both of those things in 2017!

Now I feel more settled I can’t wait to get back into the blogging and share the crafty projects I’ve been completing.

For now though, I will leave you with this wonderful story that Deramores published, about a homeless man knitting hats for other homeless people.

With the news and social media full of stories about people being mean to each other, this story has really stuck in my mind. Someone who themselves is having a hard time with mental illness and his living situation, has still been generous with  his time and also himself to think about other people and help them.

This has really struck a chord with me, and I will be using this as inspiration in 2017, to make sure that I too am generous with myself and my time too.

I hope 2017 is a brilliant year for all of you!!
